Auto Configuration

If you select "Auto Configure sMonitor" option during the installation, the auto configuration utility is launched. This utility searches for the following IP addresses or host names which may be specified in your local system settings:
  • Local host,
  • Default gateway,
  • DHCP server,
  • WINS server,
  • Primary DNS server
  • Proxy server
  • SMTP servers
  • POP3 servers
Then it tries to resolve IP addresses and sorts the server list. The Auto Configuration creates the smonitor.ini file. It is used by sMonitor program at the first launch and contains the server list with possibly running services. If Auto Configuration finds a previously created default .ini file, it renames the file by adding a successive number (filename1.ini, filename2.ini, etc.). The purpose of the Auto Configuration is to show you an example of using sMonitor.
